#1B 264 Win Mag

I have the opportunity to acquire one of these. The retail seller says there were only 16 produced. True story?? Price is $850ish.

I think your seller is mixed up with the 1B in .300 H&H; which had about that many. I had 2 of the .264 WM and they are highly desirable rifles, but I believe more than that made. I do not think they were anyone's Exclusive. That price is just barely over Dealer. If you have a want for one of these, Better grab it,as they may get much harder to get!

There were 15 300 H&Hs that were overrun guns from the Boddington series and released with standard wood and features. They were/are rare.

Later Ruger announced that there would be a short run of 264 Win Mags. The first few went to Lipseys to see if they wanted to handle them as an exclusive. Most seem to have been squirreled away by Lipswy employees or people with a connection to the companmy. Lipsey decided to NOT carry the 264 as an exclusive and the short run was released through normal Rugers Wholesale network. Ther are approx 250 total. There is no difference between the first few sent to Lipsey's and the rest of the uncataloged run so it would be very very hard to distinguish them or to assign special value to them.

The 264 Win Mag #1 at that price point is a very good bargain.

Heard there were something like 65 of the .300 H&H produced in 1990, but I belive that's the first I'd heard there was an overrun of the H&H from the Boddington series. Heard of an overrun in the .450/.400 (with and without sights). Can you give any info you may have on the Boddington .300 H&H overrun?

As far as the 1B in .264, heard this was a LIpsey's run of 250 this year. Only one known gun made on special order earlier than this.

I don't think they are a overrun Boddington because they are a totally different Model, The Boddington is a 1S with High grade walnut and mated finish. The 1 of 15 1Bs 300H&H are a standard 1B Model.

Correct...........13 of the 15 total, went to Little Crow Shooting Sports, Hutchinson, MN, and 2 to a small Wisc. gun shop(Shipped out of Bill Hicks, Mpls, MN) LCSS recently had a resale of one of the 13 sell on GB for $1090, which was a STEAL! :roll:

I saw one of those 300H&Hs when I went to buy my .25/06. I didn't really pay much attention to it. All I can tell you guys is that this retailer only buys from Big Rock, and I'm reasonably confident there were more than 15 of them.

I didn't have the dough for both of them, funny as it was on clearance for $750, it didn't last long as I was in about a week after I bought mine and it was gone along with the 22-250 V. A shop that normally sells 3 No. 1s a year, sold 3 in a week.

Over run not because it was the same finish or wood but because that's where the barrels came from. They didn't just decide one day to make 15 300H&H barrels did they???
