1A in .222 for 2013

Help Support Ruger Forum:

The wood still seems too be variable; some better; some pretty plain. Most striking thing is the caliber stamp. Just like the one on display at SHOT and NRA; not of the same font style as those from 40 years ago. Vertical, and has more an appearance of being handstamped. Some good news is that the packaging is improved. All the loose parts are contained in a styrofoam block under the flap to keep them from "rattling" around. More foam pads in the box also.

That might be a nice one to have, with a gloss Leupold 6X36mm on top...

I have heard that the 1-V was being produced in 2013 but I have yet to see one or a 1-A for that matter. Ruger's website shows the 222 1-A with a 1:9 twist. This is the same twist as the 223 and is only suitable (IMHO) for heavier bullets. If anybody has had experience with 36 to 50 grain bullets in the 222 with a 1:9 twist - please let me know.
