Mom saved those Green Stamps. One year for my birthday she cashed-in a bunch and bought a pup tent for me. It got a lot of use for camping out in the woods and, of course, in the back yard.

When I was a kid my grandparents got a badminton set and a set of Jarts lawn darts with S&H Green Stamps. The Jarts were soon gone because my cousin got one stuck in his leg after someone decided to sharpen the points on them.
In the mid 60's, Bonded Gas & Oil stations used to give you tokens based on the amount you spent on gas, oil, tires and battery's.
They could be redeemed for table service and glassware, individually or as a set when you acquired enough tokens .
My grandmother treated S&H stamps like gold.

We had Green Stamps, Yellow Stamps, and Plaid Stamps offered by different grocery chains. My mother paid for our tickets to Disneyland with green stamps.
Well dern, I missed the sex adds... but I did click on the play button and all I got was a skinny young women with a shinny nose telling me about the different prices for breakfast items around the country.... mystery was was 'granular' means...

Me too. It was a canvas tent with floor. I used it from cub scouts through college. It was awesome.
My dad got my Boy Scout sheath knife ( everyone had a a Utica Sportsman here- regional I think. Cub scout knives were the same everywhere) with S&H Green stamps. Still have it.
When firs married (1970) our grocery budget was $15.00 a week and we did not go hungry. We also save the stamps ( Top Value Stamps )

Raleigh cigarette company had some type of redemption stamp included with each pack. An aunt who only smoked Raleigh for the stamps.
And socked away, we still have some Raleigh coupons.
My Mom got a lot of stuff from Raleigh coupons.
And people dressed up to go shopping
Here the Company Store as the song says. Kennicott Copper Mine, McCarthy Alaska, 1903 till 1938. Started by JP Morgan and the Gugginhim Family. Last train out, Nov 10 1938. Great place to visit folks.

Philip Morris ran a Marlboro promotion for years back in the late 90s and early 2000s: Save the UPCs from their packaging and you could use them to buy branded merchandise. My uncle gave me a gallon ziploc bag stuffed full of them which I used to get all sorts of things. I still have four of the heavy blue coffee mugs in the cabinet.
I was a Truck Driver.
I collected Green Stamps
Other drivers left them on counter…I grabbed them up.
Went to Store and Bought :
Gas Camp stove
Double mantel propane lantern with cool carry case
And an upright Tank Mount manifold that mounted the lantern.
Nice Small Wall tent
Griddle insert for stove
Nice Coleman hatchet/Axe combo
4 lawn Chairs.
Still have stove and Lantern 45 years later
