Trying to think, but the only southpaw TV cowboy I recall was Little Joe. Anyone know of others?

I have a Single Six with nice white grips that I think look good...I call it my Little Joe Cartwright gun...the gun is actually a 1985 32 H&R Magnum gun....

Paul Newman was left handed and he played in some westerns. I think he portrayed Billy the Kid in a movie...although not sure if Billy was left handed ?? I looked it up and Billy the Kid was right handed.

I was aware of Paul Newman. I was interested only in TV cowboys. I had forgotten about Dale Robertson.

Chuck Connors was a natural born left hander and played pro baseball but only for a very short time with the Brooklyn Dodgers, mostly in the minor leagues and a season with the Chicago Cubs, and also played a couple of seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics. In baseball he threw and batted left and with the Celtics, he shot/played left handed. My dad was always a big Celtic fan as we all lived in Mass. and he remembered him. For rifle shooting he was ambidextrous and could shoot his rifle just as good right handed, so perhaps the producers wanted their "Rifleman" to be right handed I guess...

Wouldn't really matter if the Rifleman was right or left handed since he didn't use sights and wasn't concerned about case ejection.

The idea that b.t.k. was a lefty, is from an old picture, which also shows his shirt is buttonned backwards and he is in posession of the world's only lefthanded 73 winchester.

That's right. He was Rowdy on Rawhide. How did he carry on the TV show ? I checked and he is naturally a lefty but also ambidextrous so he shot right handed on the show.

Iirc, hollywood found he could shoot right and preferred he do that, but it just meant two- handed he was that much better than about anybooy else, and had tha ability to pick it up easily with either hand as the plot required.

Years ago when my dad was still alive I used to back east every year to visit he and mom....One time I was there and we were watching some sports highlight show and they were talking about some big basketball player who had broken the glass backboard.....my dad said quietly, "big deal, Chuck Connors did that years ago back at the time when he was with the Celtics"......how is that for trivia for Lucas McCain !! And I bet he did it left handed...

It was a great show, and we record a show every week from ME TV. And it was on way too short a time, an he did pass away way too young! ALSO, I HAVE A VERY SIMILAR Western holster and a blued .357 Mag 6 .5" Ruger that looks just like Paladin's. I use to do a lot of quick drawing back when it was new.

just watched the show last night - episode 194, "Genesis"...
it tells how Clay Alexander came to become Palidan.
It seemed that whoever was the make-up artist never even tried to make him look youthful.
Also, they had Richard Boone also played the part of who the person that he was looking to kill - which seemed stupid . . . . .
Anyway, lots of fine actors and actresses were in that series over the years!
