I’m not part of any other forums and don’t know too many people that would appreciate this so I thought I’d post a couple pictures of my dream gun build. It’s built on a Caspian frame/slide by Innovative Custom Guns. It turned out amazing. I haven’t got to the range yet. It’s a mix of Ed Brown, 10-8, Novak, Heine, and EGW. It has a Kart barrel and Hogue aluminum grips. It’s finished with Ionbond DLC

Looking Good. My guess is you will drop those aluminum grips, I have tried them in the past, cold in the winter and not much grip in your hand.
And just wait till they start telling you all you have to do is buy parts and slap them on. I tell them go for it, and when nothing is fitting call me. LOL

...I can’t stand the trend to name all the different models (Springfield / Dan Wesson et Al) such as “Ronin” “Opearator” “Valor” etc etc etc

Ditto! I guess it's marketing; I imagine Springfield may have intended to remind folks of the movie "Ronin", or maybe some video game with "Operator" in the title, but all of those names just scream "mall ninja" as far as I'm concerned.

(Funny thing, though, I ended up trading an AR for a Springer "Ronin" back during the Wu Flu, mostly because it was the nicest 1911 the FFL had in stock that didn't have a rail. And for me, rails on handguns scream "mall ninja" even louder than goofy names. Also on the plus side, my gunsmith thought it had a decent trigger, which was more important than the name on the slide.)

As always IMHO, FWIW, YMMV, etc., etc.
:)

Thanks for the responses. Clean and classic is what I was going for. Kind of like a resto-ride. All the reliability with subtle tweaks but still looking original. I agree about the aluminum grips and may end up changing them for rubber like I had on a Colt 1991. I really would like to find nice olive wood grips but have to recover from the blow to my budget it took to get it done.

I like it. 1911s are easy to customize to a shooters individual tastes with changes to the features/details. Little things, such as I recently changed out the mainspring housing on my lightweight SR1911 because I prefer the arched MSH. It's what I got used to when I started shooting 1911s over 40 years ago. Virtually all factory guns (there wasn't much besides Colts or GI at that time) then had arched housings, now days the trend is flat MSHs.
Your gun is very business-like, with a no-nonsense look and features.

Really nice looking.....2nd, 3rd, and 4th on the aluminum grips commentary.....they look great but can be slippery.... My weakness is for Laminated Rosewood grips....I think they look the best on most guns.....

Nice 1911's

as far as names, I would rather have Ronin as a model name than Pit Bull or Pug or one of the other bad names that scream I am mean and nasty.
