The auctioner said they sold one round of ammo for the GyroJet at another sale for $4 -$500

My best friend's father back in the mid '70s was a serious collector and I actually got to handle, but never fire, his GyroJet. Ammunition was more readily available back then, but still expensive. He is the one that gave me the Ruger bug. He would take his two sons and me along to the range every Saturday. He started us off with a Bearcat, Colt New Frontier, and a Mark I, and we progressed through his Old Army, Security-Six, BlackHawk, etc. He taught us rifle marksmanship starting with a 10/22, and we progressed through to an M1 carbine then a SMLE .303. Later in that year, '74 or '75, when I was 10 or 11, my father bought my first pistol, a BearCat, of course.
