Truer words have never been spoken. It's poetic justice at its finest. There are people who can't be satisfied. They're miserable human beings, and they want to make everyone else as miserable as they themselves are.

The target gray finish looks good when it's new, but the new look doesn't last long if the gun gets used any. If I wanted that look on a gun I was gonna use a lot, I'd be tempted to get it glass beaded and cerakoted.

Have any of you guys slugged the bores in one of those yet? I'm curious about the bore diameter. I know for fact that for several years Mini 30's had .308" groove diameters. Cheap foreign ammo got the blame for a lot of issues in those guns.
10mm wheelguns are nothing new. I got my first (of 3) S&W 610 over 20 years ago. That first 6-1/2 incher was the most accurate revolver I ever fired. With a 2X scope, it would shoot one ragged hole groups all day at 50 yards, and on a couple of occasions, I managed to get 6 rounds on paper at...
I've thought the same thing ever since I got my first one from him. I think he just does it on the side. The only holster style he makes is the Tom Threepersons style, and the options are limited to either plain or basket weave, and lined or unlined, and I think you can also get a hammer thong...
Here are a couple of mine from Henry Cassady (HC Leather). You won't find a better Threepersons holster. The one with the NV in it is actually for a Blackhawk, but being lined, it fits the New Vaquero just fine....

Thanks. Those grips - as you probably know - are spalted maple, and are contoured a little differently than standard style grips. Hmmm.... Now I've got a headache from tryin' to remember who it was that made 'em. The guy makes 'em and sells on ebay - or did a few years ago. Seems like he was in...
Actually, it goes back even earlier than that. The hammers on Colt's cap & ball revolvers were way worse for obscuring front sights than SAA's were. But then, the cap & ball revolvers 'barely' had any front sights to begin with. :D

Jim, are all of yours .357's? Front sights on .45's are a tad taller. I actually can see the top of my the sights on my .45 with the hammer down.
I didn't mean to imply that there's anything wrong with it. When I practice, I prefer dry firing. It helps me to practice sight alignment from...
Sounds like something I might expect to hear from a newbie. Then after explaining that you can't fire a single action revolver with the hammer down, therefore no need to see the sights with the hammer down they say "well, yeah, but...."
Ok, that's my thoughts anyway.....

I don't remember the total, but it wasn't a mass quantity of Hawkeyes that met their untimely demise. Less than a dozen I think, but don't quote me on that figure.
Mark
The Hawkeyes, with no transfer bar didn't match up to the company's safety standard and retro-fitting would've cost more than it would've been worth. You've got to remember, the "Old Man" still had the last word on what ultimately went on a that time.... He stuck to his guns (literally)...
