Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, and the best part is that they are fairly simple to modify... Or so I believe so now... Ordered a bunch of parts so now is the wait... Really, my goal is to get it to be 100% reliable... Once I get it there, I should be done :-) V.

I was cruising the gun show in dallas this weekend because I wanted to fondle the mark III's and see what I liked better... After visiting with one dealer I kept walking. Its not that bad... I picked up a 22/45 III this weekend, took it home and tore it down. Yes, the first time, it did take me some looking to put it back together but the second time it took me 5 minutes. Third time, I got it on the first try... Its NOT that bad... :-) V.

I know this was probably beaten to death on here already but how good is the polymer on the 22/45? I have mostly 1911's so the grip configuration is definitely a plus but this pistol is going to end up getting fairly beat up in a backpack and I wanted to make sure that it was sturdy and will...
