hittman, that's good to read. I've acquired a couple of non Ruger mags, thought most look as though they are from the same OEM, LOL. I'm going to be watching them closely. 8)

Does this flavor of GP have a two-piece barrel? Or, is it just the way the crown is cut and counter-sunk that gives that impression? When this is field-stripped all of the way, are the hammer shim/s a pain to get bac into place? THanks

I am absolutely pleased with this pistol so far, in two outings. Found that a Kimber, and Ed Brown 9rd mag was essentially the same as a Ruger's OEM. The Metalform 10rd cosistently fed from full, but obviously protrudes by about the width of one round. Best left for 'reload' duty, LOL. My...

I saw my first one price below 400 at 379. I almost bit, LOL. Thing fits just right, and is a natural pointer for me. I'm an oddball that would also like to have the manual safety, but... it's certainly intriguing.

The .44 Special aligns the chamber on the click. The .45 Colt does not, just like a SBH. Is that normal? Is it a function of the larger bore diameter?
