    Bisley grip

    Yes, all Ruger Bisley grips are the same size. The only exception would be the pre-1998 versus post 1998 versions - these have the same length and grip contour, but have a slightly different height of the radius at the top of the grip, corresponding to the change in frame bosses.

    Sounds like it has been “free spin” converted. It takes longer to tape up your frame to protect against errant file strikes than it does to do the job. Don’t even have to disassemble the revolver.

    Frame size on Ruger single action question

    All Ruger single actions - except the Bearcat - use the same GRIP FRAME footprint. The CYLINDER FRAMES vary in 3 sizes, Single Six, Flattop/New Vaquero, and old Vaquero/Blackhawk/Super Blackhawk, small, mid, and large. But all 3 sizes share the same grip frame footprints. There’s the confusion.

    Milling a Blackhawk Topstrap to look like the Vaquero?

    What will be easier than welding and milling the topstrap of a 480 SBH would be to simply transplant the guts of the 480 into a large frame Vaquero frame. Old 45 colt and 357mag Vaqueros can be had rather cheap, simply transplant the parts into the new host.

    What you are calling a “barrel” is the barreled action. That’s the receiver, the serialized firearm itself.

    I don’t worry much about part numbers. I’ve swapped transfer bars between original Vaqueros and New Vaqueros, without fail or falter. The Mark I, II, III, and IV pistols all have the serial number on the right side of the tubular “upper” receiver, forward of the ejection port. Equally, there’s nothing the postmaster ever sees of a firearm, whether shipped via USPS...

    The fact a manufacturer additionally serializes extraneous parts attached to a firearm receiver does not create a new firearm. WTH are folks really thinking to even postulate that? Ruger isn’t the first to have done this, and isn’t the only one doing it. Just silly.

    Throw a drop of epoxy on the underside of the grip where the hammer pin tab sets. Effectively create a pressure pad against the tab.
