    #1 in 7.62x39 first range trip-big disappointment

Not sure about the earlier stainless run from several years back but the newer # 1's are .311. Nice for shooting surplus but bad as bullet selection in correct diameter is substantially reduced. Jeff

Ruger #1 450 Bushmaster Twist Rate

Ruger does do this sometimes. They cut their standard .243 tubes at 1:9" but ran some with a 1:7.7" for the guys that shoot the 115 Gr. VLD bullets at long range. Some of their 223's have been cut with different twists over the years too but for something like this, probably not. Jeff

Ruger #1 450 Bushmaster Twist Rate

That's exactly what I thought! I have not tried contacting Ruger yet as I just saw this yesterday but I have to assume that it has to be a boo boo. There are a few listed on GB.com and that is what the spec says but I am sure that the sellers just copied info from the cut sheet on Ruger's web...

Ruger #1 450 Bushmaster Twist Rate

I was just looking at the specs on this gun as I am very interested in one and thought there must have been a typo when I saw a 1:10" twist rate until I checked it on Ruger's website and saw the same thing. Does anyone know if this is a typo or did they really cut the barrels with that twist...

    #1 in 7.62x39 first range trip-big disappointment

I picked one of these up a couple months ago and have yet to to remove the factory grease from it. From bad past experiences shooting rimless cartridges like a 35 Remington and a 222 Rem. out of a Thompson Contender, I always fire form brass to a new chamber before working up any loads for the...

Important information on the Ruger SP101 327 Federal.

Just got my SP-101 back today. Apparently my cylinder was a problem because they replaced it. Looking forward to taking it out a running a box of hot stuff thru it to check the extraction now. One complaint is that the single action mode is exremely gritty now. It was smooth as glass when it...

    SP101 - splitting brass

Well, you are not alone. I had the exact thing happen to me with the American Eagle 100 Gr JSP's. I just got my SP101 in 327 Fed back from Ruger today. It is sporting a brand new cylinder too. I sent it in at their expense about 2 weeks ago and they turned it around pretty quick. One complaint I...

Important information on the Ruger SP101 327 Federal.

My SP101 327 Mag with serial # 574-32XXX is heading back for a look see tomorrow. They are sending a UPS call tag tonight. My SN is past the range listed earlier in this post so I have to wonder. Gun test fired at the factory in Feb of 2010. Took it out to the range yesterday for the first time...
