My #1A in 7X57 wears an older Leupold M8 4X scope and my #1RSI in .270 wears a Leupold 2-7x33. For my eyes, it worth the time & effort to search out a similar such scope in gloss finish for a nice #1. YMMV

FWIW, I just sold a very similar rifle, but a 1987 build M77R (not a flat bolt). Mine was like new, but fired, with original box, paperwork & rings and sold for $1100.

I have a M77 MKII RSI in .308 and really like it. I'd only comment that you might be disappointed with a Hawkeye RSI, if it had matte finish metal. I know I would(do) way prefer gloss blue on such a rifle. I'd also suggest you expand your search to include the .308. I'm not normally bothered by...

Very nice rifle! I've owned a Ruger RSM (30/06) with Circassian walnut (in my avatar), a Browning BAR Safari II GRII with Circassian walnut and a Franchi Deluxe 48AL with Circassian and I'd guess your rifle, nice as it looks, is not Circassian walnut.
