Scope mounts for M77 round receiver (tang safety) found

Watch that rear scope mount when you eject spent rounds. I would try it at the range. Similar set-up caused some issues with my 7mm Rem Mag when I fired 2 quick rounds.

Scope mounts for M77 round receiver (tang safety) found

The Rem 700 Leupold QD bases will fit your M77. The issue is the where the front scope ring ends up. The back ring wouldn't cause issues ejecting cases but the front ring was a problem with the extended base mounted either direction. I looked at a couple of other M77's and the Warne mount puts...

Scope mounts for M77 round receiver (tang safety) found

Warne #M902/877M mounts for Mossberg ATR & 4X4 work great with Warne #200M low height rings work great on M77 tang safety action. Leupold and other mounts for Remington 700 have the correct screw spacing but were not a good fit IMHO.

    Ruger 77 in 17 WSM

Had a friendly competition for a six pack a few weeks ago at the range. My CZ 455 beat the other guys guns including a couple of rugers. I spent over $300 "accurizing" my 77/22. It was OK for a hunting squirrels and rabbits and beer cans. "Uno mas cerveza por favor" Ruger needs to step their...

hearing loss from concussion and a fix

The stock doesn't produce the sound, it conducts the sound. Wood conducts less because of the structure of the wood versus carbon fiber. This is not BS, when I shoot my Weatherby it hurts my teeth which is what started this conversation last week. This helps explain it a bit more...

hearing loss from concussion and a fix

Just a heads up. I had my annual hearing test and hearing aid check last week. My new audiologist asked me if I shoot large caliber rifles. Yepp and I wear plugs and muffs. Not good enough she said. A lot of my hearing loss and tinnitus is from the sounds conducted by the rifle stock. First...

Ruger 223 scout rifle or CZ 527???

Another vote for the 527. My 527 is light, very accurate and built like a tank. I put an Aim Point H4 red dot sight on it and it's very quick to aim and shoot. Has no problem with hogs and other varmints. Fit and finish is first rate.

Ruger "General" rifle Question... which one.

I have read numerous comparisons of the .30-30 vs. 7.62 X 39. Most comparisons aren't worth the paper they are printed on. The 7.62 is very capable of shooting accurately to 200 yards with enough energy to kill a hog and then some based on my own experience. Handloaded it's even better. I would...

Ruger fanatic not happy with Rugers marketing

My observation is that single shot pistols and rifles are a "niche" market at best. Have been shooting both for years and see a few less shooters at matches every year. No shortage of black pistols and rifles at the range and at LGS's in all price ranges. Black pistols and rifles are cheaper to...

    What Cartridge

Nothing odd about the cases for 264 Win Mag. There's more BS about the 264 than facts on the internet about this cartridge, much of it very dated. Very accurate for me , shoots fast and flat. I also shoot a 7mm Remington Magnum in an M77 Mk 1, replacing the stock trigger with a Timmney was the...

What Red Dot Scope for my Ruger AR556?

Can't go wrong with an Aimpoint, have one on my Sig 556, another on a CZ-527 and the third one on a Ruger MkII Bullseye pistol. Rugged, reliable and accurate. Don't go cheap on the red dot sight, you get what you pay for.

    scope for 280

Recently bought a Redfield 4-12X40mm, couldn't be happier with sharp, bright and dead on. Heck of a scope for $250 more or less.

M77 project trigger guard question, barrel

Gunsmith says barrel looks good, adding a muzzle brake and Timney trigger. Serial says rifle was built in 78.

    1966 10/22 carbine

I bought mine in 1969. I paid $68.50 for it, still have the receipt and the rifle. Recently upgraded the scope on it.
