Shaking my head in disbelief. Things showing up so run out, pay too much, and restock?????? Exactly what not to do. That panic buying is what caused most of the problems in the first place. Buy what you need and let others do the same. Your type of panic is certainly going to keep prices...

Hoarding now is buying high and saving until the price drops back somewhat. Not the greatest logic to use.

I'm sure its a good accurate rifle but again, you get what you pay for! I think that is usually the case for sure. But, a Chevy or Ford will do everything a Cadillac will do just not as pretty and not as much of a status symbol.

The bad news is that it broke,,,the good news is that it is a Ruger and they have always been known to back up all their guns.

Clips won't be all that hard to find. I have seen several around at gun shows and some gun stores. Be prepared to spend around 50 bucks though. Years ago I use to see stocks for the 100's and 88's for sale in Shotgun News but haven't seen those ads lately. Maybe an internet check?

I have 2 RAR. One in 30/06 and one in 308 and both are fine rifles. I notice that the major complaint (usually from people that don't own one) is the plastic magazine. It is not the plastic that we once knew (being 65 years old). It is extremely durable and works as slick as polished glass...

IMO is all in what you are looking for in a rifle. If you just want a hunting rifle, it is not worth the difference. I have several of each and the American will do everything the 77 will do but not as pretty. Damn,,,,come to think of it I know some women like that.....but I digress

I have to agree with Lewgroth. It doesn't add up to it being an ammo problem. What was described is quite a massive kaboom in an already over built rifle. There was something much more that happened and sure wish I knew.
