    Weasel/Ermine

I grew up in the East and there are a lot of people that don't know there are weasels and wouldn't know what they look like.I know people who are life long MT natives and active hunters and trappers that don't realize there are spotted skunks in their areas.Once I figured out what to look for,I...

    Weasel/Ermine

A couple days ago,I was driving on a ranch road and a long tailed weasel ran across,in front of me with tail erect.I was hoping to lip squeak it back in to view and get a picture but it wasn't to be.

    Anybody order Bowen sights lately?

I'm a big fan of the Rough Country.I like the white outline,I can usually sight one in with about a cylinder full of shots and they lock down tight with zero slop.I usually find that groups tighten up,compared to factory sights, due to no play in the sight blade.I've used the target sights as...

    Shooting 44 Mag

Jack,it does of course vary with the shooter but I'd say 48 oz empty,is a good starting point.Add about 5 oz for 6 rds of ammo.Well designed grips can help quite a bit as will more weight. When I'm carrying on the trail and might not need to shoot, the S+W Mountain gun @ 39 oz,empty is more...

Bear protection. Let's stir the pot.

Gunzo,I'm a fan of Buffalo Bore ammo but I wouldn't recommend that +P+ load to most shooters.I shot some out of a 4" Redhawk and it is ROUGH!I'm no stranger to heavy recoil as I've shot .454,.475 LB and .500 LB quite a bit out of short barreled, single action revolvers.I could hit well with the...

Lets See Some PICS of SHORT Barreled Custom Blackhawks!!

This is a Sheriff's Model Vaquero.Jim Stroh installed the sights. It has an aluminum ejector rod housing and grip frame plus several other tweaks to reduce weight. The cylinder is free-wheeling.

    sights

I haven't looked recently but have purchased it from Brownells,as Contender stated. It seems like the pieces were app. 4" long and in yellow, orange, red? and green.

Rams Horn for my 38 Super

Super beautiful grips. This is a box of Marco Polo horn parts,each,8-10" long. How many grips would these make?

    Reeder front sights?

I'm not sure what ramp Reeder uses.I do know that some of the custom smiths use a Freedom Arms ramp. You could compare your blade to the FA ones but I do agree that calling Reeder should clear up the question the quickest.

    Hunting with a redhawk

brushunter, you are right about the Mtn Gun.It can be a handful with heavy loads. It's a great sidearm for carrying in the mountains though.I didn't shoot mine for fun at the range but would sight it in, then hunt with it.One or two shots at game wasn't bad and like all revolvers, the right grips...

    Hunting with a redhawk

I agree with all.I've taken Shiras moose, elk, whitetails, mule deer, black bears with 4" Redhawks in both .44 and .45.The moose was at 65 yds,elk at 75 and the farthest was a mule deer at 95 yds.The .44 load was a 305 gr hardcast and the .45 load was a 325 gr.All bullets exited except the shot on...
