I love the .44 special. I think reading Skeeter and Elmer as a boy got me hooked at an early age. I have both the Lipsey flat top blackhawk and the flat top bisley; both with 5 1/2" barrels and I really love them. I think these were the guns Ruger should have built years ago.
I have an old...
My local gun shop called Lipsey's today looking to order me one of their 44 specials in stainless. This gun shop is a "preferred dealer" with Lipsey's and got me a blued 44 special in 2 days when everybody else was waiting months.
Anyway, Lipsey's said they do not have any of the ss 44...
My local gun shop just got off the phone with Lipsey's looking to order me one of their 44 specials in stainless. This gun shop is a "preferred dealer" with Lipsey's and got me a blued 44 special in 2 days when everybody else was waiting months. Anyway, Lipsey's said they do not have any of...
The best cast bullets I have bought in a long time are from Mt. Baldy. I have no problems with any of their bullets in any of my guns, and they shoot good with all of my loads from low to high. I even shoot their bullets in my black powder cartridges.
Are your cast bullets real hard? I bought some bullets awhile back from a company I had been doing business with for years. He had changed his casting recipe due to "popular demand" and started casting his bullets to 20+ BHN Hardness. My favorite Unique loads in 45 Colt, 44 special and 44...
In my former life, I lived with some type of semi-auto pistol at all times. Now that my life has changed, I prefer revolvers and leverguns (or my Sharps). That being said, I carry a Ruger or Colt's Single Action as my CCW most of the time. Current fashion trends make it easier than ever to...
Any gun is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'll see it tomorrow and post pictures if I get it. I was hoping someone would have an opinion. My opinion (actually Skeeter's) is some guns should be kept out of the hands of ruffians. I don't collect boxes or papers and have no...
No numbers or pics. I get to see it tomorrow. It has been fired but the owner said its in great condition. I met the guy at the range today and after looking at what he had at the range, I'm pretty sure it is in the condition he says its in.
Last Sunday I fired my Jim Stroh converted 44 special (old model flat top) and my Lipseys 44 special. In my hands they both shoot the same (which is great when I do my part). I love my Jim Stroh conversion for what it is but I probably wouldn't have it if Ruger had produced the Lipseys 44...
I had the same complaint with my grips. I put some OM flat top grips I found in that box of goodies everyone has at home that is full of stuff "I might need someday". They fit close and will hold me over. On my 44 anniversery model (same type grips), a weight training glove with the padded...
