Nice. I like how they’re guarding the remote control in your pic!… like, “don’t change that channel!”

    Bisley 45 LC Question

While I agree about asking the seller, in my experience, many preowned guns sold on GB are sold by dealers that seem to know nothing about the history of the firearms they take in to resell, and they don’t seem to care, either, and sell everything “as is” (with take it or leave it mentality)...

    Bowie knive

I’m not sure if there’s any relation, but I have a Western skinner knife my dad bought for me over forty years ago from Western Auto. I think I costed about $15 back then, and I still have it.

    Ruger No1 caliber change

If you find the right person, why stop at 475? Why not 500 S&W? I had Noneman do my conversion, but it was years ago and took a long time. I think he started with a new barrel, though, rather than reboring the 416 Rem Mag it started as.

SOLD NM Flattop blackhawk 45 acp cylinder SS

It’s like that old game show, $10,000 Pyramid… Hen’s teeth. Unicorn. A field of four-leaf clovers. Extremely rare. (These are all hints) Answer: Extra stainless 45ACP cylinder! (Ding, ding, ding,… winner!)

    #1 in 460 S&W

The 460 S&W and 475 Linebaugh were offered in the No.1 right after I spent years and $ converting existing rifles to custom ones in 445 SuperMag and 500 S&W. Sometimes timing is everything!

    Been a super long time

Nice buckles. Getting harder to find belts that accept them. I have a Freedom Arms and an old Chinese-made Colt buckle, but no Rugers.

New die doesn’t give enough shoulder bump

Thanks, Oldcrab. This thread is a little old and, as mention before, I already tried a shell holder from a different manufacturer with identical results (about 0.002 - 0.003” bump). I guess I was surprised that I didn’t have any more wiggle room and all. I understand how less bump is more...

New die doesn’t give enough shoulder bump

Thanks for the comments. I’m fairly sure the rifle and the (new) Redding dies were manufactured after the 280AI was properly recognized with its final SAAMI specs. The brass I use is Petersen 280AI, and I’ve never bought factory ammo for this cartridge. I guess a simple call to Redding to see...

Super Blackhawk Bisley 5 shot 454 Casull

Ruger should remove these from their website. I mean, it’s not like a guy can go to his local dealer and actually buy (or order) one, especially the shorter barrel model.

New die doesn’t give enough shoulder bump

Thanks, Oldcrab, for the comments. You’re correct that the competition she’ll holders did not help because they went the wrong way. I did not have any old dies to begin with. I have the standard Redding shell holder, plus one from another manufacturer, and they’re both the same in the effect...

New die doesn’t give enough shoulder bump

That was a great suggestion. I can’t do it properly since I don’t have the right tools, and finding anyone that does have them that’s willing to do it properly is hard. Local businesses here won’t disrupt service on their machines to do a job like this, and if they did, they’d want hundreds of...

New die doesn’t give enough shoulder bump

Redding told me the standard shell holder was the 0.00” so I went back to it and adjusted the press to overcam more I’m right at the correct bump, but barely, like by only within 0.001”. If I wanted to bump it more, say an extra 0.005” then I’d be in trouble.

    What's the Consensus ?

I think the two big questions to first ask are if you want a stainless that won't rust at all, or if you're okay with keeping it clean, oiled, and possibly stained a little. Next, do you want something that is easy to sharpen and would require routine sharpening, or if you don't like to...

    New Vaquero .357 (Talo?)

I bought one and love it. Mine wears thicker ebony panels by J. Downey and a host of other tuning improvements by Ryan Ross.
