    Ruger Super Blackhawk question???

“Terry D Debey” is listed as an FFL doing business in Iowa. http://fflgundealers.net/debey-terry-d.html Maybe he is stamping the guns he sells much like an importer.

    Simply Rugged Shootist

Has anyone here tried the Simply Rugged “Shootist” holster for a Ruger Blackhawk? https://www.simplyrugged.com/ecommerce/Shootist-Leather-Range-Holster.cfm?item_id=474&parent=669 I’m looking for something to use at the range or hunting on a 2 1/4” gun belt and it looks promising.

Weight loss program for Hogue monogrips?

Well after looking further into this I found out that Hogue uses carnuba wax as a finish and offers a kit with buffing rouge and carnuba wax along with directions on refinishing. They even say that they will refinish a set of grips for the price of shipping after you file/sand/chew off the...

Weight loss program for Hogue monogrips?

I actually took my Dremel with a sanding drum to a rubber Hogue grip for the Ruger Blackhawk today. Figured at $30 it was better than carving away on an expensive wooden model. I took the humps between the finger grooves down (accidentally got into the plastic skeleton where the end of the...

Weight loss program for Hogue monogrips?

Has anyone ever tried removing some girth from the wooden Hogue “Monogrips”? For my paws the stock grips for the Ruger XR3 RED grip frame are too skinny. The SBH or Bisley grips aren’t really any better. I put a set of wooden Hogues on my 4 5/8” SBH and I’ve shot it that way for a few years...

Range Day for the SR1911 10mm

My 10mm SR1911 is probably the most accurate pistol I’ve ever owned. Enjoy! But remember to notify the International Space Station to watch for ejected brass. ;)

New grips ordered for my SR1911 Lightweight

Nice grips! I went “cheap” with a set of Magpul TSP grips on my 9mm lightweight. https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-1911-grip-panels?ProductColor=VO343 I figured they “would do” until I found something I like better. Then found I like them more than the expensive grips on my other 1911s.

    Adjustable 3 dot sights for 10mm SR1911

From what I could find the SR1911 adjustable sights are Bomar-ish and not exactly drop in replaceable. I had Novak’s put a front night sight with a white ring around the tritium vial on my 10mm. I don’t see the rear dots when I concentrate on the front anyway so this setup works perfectly for me.

    Not Ruger - S&W Night Guard revo's

I bought a 325NG and shot it for a while. Didn't really like it, then I saw one too many picture on the Internet of a Scandium frame broken in half and I traded it in for my new 4 5/8" SS Super Blackhawk. Now we're back on topic. :D

454 Alaskan moon clipped for 45 ACP

Corbi, Yes the cartridges stay put in the metal moon clips, in fact it helps to have a tool to remove them once they've been fired. I've heard that it's possible to bend the clips and that bent clips can cause the cylinder to bind but I never had that happen.

454 Alaskan moon clipped for 45 ACP

.45 Colt, .45acp AND .45 Win Mag! That would make a for a very interesting pistol. Even with some required moderation in loading the .45 Win Mag it would be a most formidable gun with given ability to reload using the moon clips. I recently sold off a S&W 325NG due to some issues I didn't...

454 Alaskan moon clipped for 45 ACP

Can you use Auto Rim brass after having this modification done?

Thanks, Now the decision as to whether to wait and see, or buy something that's actually available....

Has Ruger made a 44 Sheriff Vaquero with bird's head grip?

This would be a cool little gun for packing, the .44 Spl. doesn't always have to be loaded to near Magnum velocities. :D Has it already been made as a limited run for any of the usual suspects or should I just go ahead and buy the present Lipsey's Sheriff with the normal grips? TIA
