Looking at four different SP101's in 22lr at local gun shop.
A new April 2015 production is equally loose in all 8 holes when locked up.
2 others had some holes tight and some loose made middle 2014.
1 is tight on 7 and loose on just 1. It is Feb 2014.
I have heard for accuracy they need to...
Your Lipsey flattop has the same grip frame as the 50th anniversary flattop blackhawks. Same frame as mentioned before as the New Vaquero. I think the Altamonte slim profile might be close to the Ivory grips on your flattop if they are the slim Eagle gunfighter Ivory grips. But that is just a...
Anyone have a stainless Vaquero with White Pearl Eagle Gunfighter grips?
I've been thinking of buying, but I've found 2 pictures. On Eagle Grips old site it showed the pearl grips and they had hints of silver flowing through them. I saw another picture of a vaquero with pearl eagle grips for...
Thanks hvacmedic. I thought about it. If it were out of production I would go for it.
But my LGS has been putting up with me for months, they've been good to me and this would cut them out of some money. I'll give it some more time.
I went to my dealer today, he called Lipsey and what I understand is that Lipsey got 3 in for April and 5 for May. (Stainless 4 5/8) So very low supply right now. Apparently the Lipsey salesman for my dealer hasn't been lucky enough to get one to send to my dealer. So that explains the wait.
Thanks. My son got the blue 4 5/8 large frame and he LOVES it. Especially when he shoots the BIG BULLETS (Ruger only handloads). I like stainless and already have several new Vaquero's. So I would like the Lipsey. Besides they don't make a large frame stainless convertible right now that I...
Has anyone gotten an order for a Lipsey Stainless Flattop 45 LC/ACp since last Thanksgiving? Been waiting, but they are a no show. Called Lipsey and Ruger and neither will say when or whether or not more are coming.
Looking at the Lipsey Flattop 45LC/45acp. General comments from members? I've heard good and bad. Also anyone have both 4-5/8 and 5-1/2? Opinions? Does either shoot better than the other?
I have a Davidson's regular New Vaquero Convertible and I really like it. It is 5-1/2. Also a pair of...
Could be. I like my Davidson Vaquero convertible though. I can shoot any 45acp that won't pass muster with my 1911. Factory ammo is cheaper. I don't have to run after my brass with the Vaquero and a box of ammo lasts longer :)
Gee. When I called Ruger about 6-10 months ago about a 45acp cylinder for a New Vaquero they told me they were NOT available, once were, but not doing it anymore. So I waited and waited and got a Davidson 5 1/2 stainless convertible. There are good smiths out there that make 45acp cylinders...
I have a 1 of 1000 New Vaquero KNV-455EC which is really nice.
I bought a 45LC/45ACP New Vaquero KNV-455X-C so I could keep wear off the nice one as well as shoot more often using cheaper 45ACP. (I shoot a 1911 often)
The action on the new convertible doesn't appear to be near as smooth as...
Contender: Thanks. I took a closer look. It does look like it has been dyed black. They did a pretty good job of it. I wouldn't have bought it if it were tan. However...If I had known...maybe I could have talked 'em down more on the price!
