Just got a (very)lightly used SR1911 today from private sale-almost no sign that it was ever fired. No ding/dent/scratch marks anywhere. The seller gave me a full box of 50 Winchester white box 230gr JHP along w/ the pistol for $600. Early Christmas present for me!
Agree! Interesting thing is that one of my Walther P990 keeps having this failure to feed- bullet stuck on the (now polished) feed ramp, on the very 1st round when using slide release. I have been using sling shot motion for many years and just discovered this. Walther/S&W can't seem to fix...
Yes, I agreed- I was trying to like the two G27 I had- they were very snappy. Eventually I gave up and started carrying 9mm (G26 was later replace by SR9C last year- $100 cheaper too). Now back to 40 (sub-compact) again. Shooting two hands or one hand- no problem controlling it. I actually...
Just shot my newly acquired SR40C and "wow!" - I really like this pistol, especially in sub-compact size! I put 150 rds of the dirty and cheap Russian stuff: Wolf w/ lacquer coated case, Tula w/ gray case. They all functioned w/ out problem and accurate too- I shot at 2" target at 20 or so...
I have a brand new SR9C 10rds mag w/ pinky extension which I would like to trade for a SR40C 9rds mag w/ pinky extension in the same condition. I may consider SR40 15rds mag if nothing else.
I just traded one of my SR9C for SR40c. We pay our own shipping.
Reason why I buy Ruger- great CS, not to mention I like their GP100, SRH and SR9/SR9C. At least if there's a problem Ruger would come clean and make it official- unlike Glock ( G21SF w/ defective mag release!).
When it comes to Ruger, I don't really mind buying used. So, I got one in stainless-used for $350, Blue for $325 and Stainless full size for $300. I like all of them!
I too would like to find a SR40 or SR40C for $300 especially for local sale. But so far, no seller is co-operating w/ me, and I have been looking for over a year.
Well, I ended up getting a LNIB Glock 20 SF (10mm) w/ night sights for a really good price. I guess SRH will have to be later, then, or until I see one for around $500 next time.
$550 - that's the range I am definitely more comfortable w/, especially for something I am not going to be shooting that often- maybe once or twice a year.
Fortunately, I have over a thousand rounds of .38spl, .38+p and 357 magnum to keep me busy for awhile.
Thank you all for helping!
