I have never been a 380 fan. For years I have carried a S&W 642 in my pocket (pants, coat, shorts). I have transitioned to an EC9s as my primary carry, but I will drop the 642 into my coat pocket when it's cold outside.
I am not short torsoed but I am big bellied. IWB is not an option currently. OWB is better but the grip tends to stick out. I settled with my five shot 38 and pocket holster as being the most convenient option. Just a thought.
Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I'll start with Hylander's first suggestion. If I get reasonable accuracy I'll probably add a scope of some kind. Old eyes and cross-dominance makes rifle shooting more difficult for me than it ought to be.

If you could be a little more verbose. Let us know your preferences for:
1. Barrel length.
2. Choke
3. 2 3/4 or 3-inch (did they may 2 3/4 only in the 70's?)
4. Rib or plain barrel (did they make a plain barrel in the 70's?)
5. Etc.
