Yea, its intended as a flash suppressor more than a muzzle break. I find the sights are much easier than the factory sights for my eyes.

I have a Ruger Blackhawk .357 that I had to put Hogue grips on to avoid this very same problem. On my smiths I have Pachmayr grips. I think the Hogues will eliminate your problem.

You can purchase the stocks from Brownells, or E. Arthur Brown Co, or West One Products LLC. I ordered from West One because I could get the upper hand guard without the rear sight cut out. This looked more authentic to me. Prices from West One are, $110 for the stock, $130 with two hand guards...
