    Ruger Mark IV Bolt Stop & Magazine Disconnect

    Some shooters prefer to use the bolt stop as a bolt release because they can get back on target quickly without having to slingshot the bolt. The bolt stop/release will wear overtime, but it is not an expensive part, it can be treated as an expendable part.

    The OP mentioned sights, not scopes. But screws come loose -- example: Congress. Tighten them, and use loctite if needed. It ain't a real problem.

    OP, what trigger pull gauge are you using, out of curiosity? Most that I've seen or used don't bottom out until at least 12 pounds.     PS: the "reliable ignition" is with CCI Minimag or CCI Blazer; can't opine as to other brands.

    With Wolff 10 lb mainspring & 10 lb trigger return spring in my GP100 .22LR, I get reliable ignition and trigger pull averages (Lyman digital gauge) of 2 lbs, 13.4 oz SA and 7 lbs, 9.5 oz DA. Stock springs: 5 lbs, 13.5 oz SA, and over 12 lbs DA. John Land
