    Barrel Indexing

Another fix gunsmiths use is a spacer/washer. They can get them in different thicknesses and will pull the barrel and put the proper spacer in.

    Speed Six vs Service Six

    If I recall correctly, wasn't the speed-six .38 spl and the service-six .357 mag...or visa-versa?

Sent my gun to Ruger, got back a little more than I expected

I have not been happy with the fit and finish on the Rugers in my area lately and pretty much swore off buying another one. However, that one is everything a person could ask for. It is beautiful and it looks like fit and finish are up to the standards I expect from a manufacturer. Now I'm jealous.

New grips for the Max finally done

I'm not easily impressed, but those are really nice. Impressive in fact.

    Long Range front sight mods

I don't know how you would do it, but I will let you know that you would have to undercut both sides of your grove to get the brass/gold to stay in. Like this: /__\

    Barrel replacement options

Good luck even finding a barrel. It took me 2 years to find one and it cost me $99.

    I actually did it!

I went online to the BBB and was surprised to learn they had already closed the case...without my input. I bet he doesn't have an A+ rating anymore.

    I actually did it!

Yes, my gunsmith and I had a really good laugh over that. He wasn't happy with me showing up for the money. I didn't tell him how much Earl charged me either. I don't think he will work on another gun for me, at least it seemed that way when he told me not to come back in so many words. :D I...

    I actually did it!

I will have to wait until I can work around this post so I can get a picture of my Old Style Vaquero. I took one but I am downloading a new virus program and it has my dialup tied up. I did go and get my money back today. He wanted to take the gun apart and look at it. I told him no. I guess he...

    I actually did it!

I also wanted to tell of a thread I was watching on a Forum for Heritage Arms. Can't remember which one, but one of the shooters had the frame crack and while looking at it broke the whole frame in half. He called Heritage and the girl answering the phone told him they won't replace frames. He...

    I actually did it!

I got my Vaquero today...$75. It was done right from one end to the other. They cleaned it and blued the barrel to match. The sight was straight and soldered in. Everything was as it should be and for less than half of what the dumbkoff charged me to screw it all up. I highly recommend Hickman...

Custom Bisley "Porting" / Barrel Rupture REPAIRED

It will be interesting to see what Ruger does as I have heard horror stories about them keeping guns and giving you a discount on a new one, instead of fixing it. It isn't just Ruger doing this as Smith does it too and I heard of another one on another site a few nights ago.

Custom Bisley "Porting" / Barrel Rupture REPAIRED

Good luck finding a barrel. Ruger won't sell a barrel to a gunsmith or you. I spent 2 years looking before I found one and then it was pretty expensive at $99.

Ruger single six three screw & Bisley 32 H&R-w famil

I have seen several from people looking for Single-Six .32 mags. I saw a Davidson's flyer and they had them in stock.
