    SR1911 break in time

In the year I've owned mine, it has run flawlessly from the first magazine full (7 & 8 round). I have not shot any HP ammo yet, but have shot everything from 185, 200 and 230 gr. Lead SWC, RN, RNFP and all manner of 230 gr. FMJ/ball ammo. Factory or reloads, this thing shoots it all very...

Rugers most reliable , trouble free semi auto pistol ?

Have owned my P89DC for about 3-4 years and it has shot everything, including reloads from a Lee Handloading kit (neck size only). My SR1911 is coming up on it's first birthday and it too, has shot everything, including a mag full of reloads from a Lee Handloading kit with no issues. This is...

    For range and practice, plinking

I have 2 Ruger 7 round and 2 Ruger 8 round mags. I load them accordingly. So I voted "other".

    SR1911 Front Sight Poll

Bought my 5" SR1911 fall of 2013; no issues yet. Love the gun too much to let it go because of the sight issue. Hopefully mine will be okay. Glad replacements are available.

    Ruger SR9E

I have been considering an SD9VE, but if this new 9E becomes available at around the same price point; I'll be adding another Ruger to my collection!

    SR1911 and Federal Ammo

I'm surprised you had such issues with your new gun! I have shot the Federal Champion ammo through mine with no issues; as well as PMC, Winchester White Box, REM-UMC and assorted handloads. No issues at all with any of them. I will say, the last box of Fed. Champion that I bought had PLATED...

    SR1911 8 rd mags

I've had my SR1911 since last fall. Full Size 5" model; came with 1-7 round and 1-8 round mag. To date, I have around 300-500 rounds through her. Factory and reloads. FMJ ball and Lead SWC, RN and RNFP. 185 - 230 Gr. I have not had any issues with either mag in my gun. When I decided to...

    P89 Inaccuracy

[ There is a strong, persistant, and obnoxious prejudice against American-made sideiron and a simultaneous automatic love affair with any pistol birthed in Europe. I, for one, would have to disagree with this statement. At 56 years old, I have owned 1 firearm that was not made in the USA...

    Pleasantly surprised with P89DC

My fiancé convinced me to go to the range this evening, so I took my P89DC. Haven't been shooting it much since I got my SR1911 :D So, off to the range I go with 50 rounds of Winchester White Box 115 Gr. FMJ. Set up a B24 target at 10 yards, loaded my mag and fired off the first 5 rounds...

    1911 interchangeability

In a word, I LOVE my SR1911  Bought it last fall. I have 4 different holsters for it, all for 5" Gov't. model 45's. They all fit like a glove. I bought 2 extra mags for mine, both Ruger branded, another 7 round and another 8 round. My SR1911 is my EDC gun; it is one of the most...

    P89 Inaccuracy

Soldernut, First off, thanks for the welcome! :D I wish I could find more of the P series locally; I really do like the older, all metal models. I happened upon a used P345 that was in "Like New" condition. Bought it, took it to the range and had to take it right back to the shop for...

    P89 Inaccuracy

This is my first post here. I have owned my P89DC for the past 2 years. I'm a casual shooter, so I don't shoot near as much as I should. That being said: My Ruger shoots everything I put through it, even reloads from a Lee Handloading Kit, which only neck sizes! No issues at all-no FTF...

    New SR1911

+1-You ARE gonna love it! Bought mine last fall, but barely had time to shoot a box of factory ammo before weather got cold/snowy and stayed that way till just recently. Mine shoots everything with no issues and is ACCURATE! As long as I do my part, it will shoot a ragged hole out to 15...

    Lee Classic Turret Press

I just purchased a new LEE Classic Turret press to upgrade from the original LEE 3 hole Turret press I have. Just this morning, I used the Classic Turret for the first time, so glad I bought the Classic instead of the Deluxe, which is the same as my older model. A more sturdy press with...
