Define "necessary", if you don't mind.
Personally, I have guns I've let sit years between cleanings. Never noticed a problem of any kind. I would agree with you, if they're in a humid environment or shooting corrosive ammo or have heavy leading. But properly stored with modern ammo...not so...
Maybe my sample size is too small, but from what I've seen, comparing RP Marlins to JM Marlins even from the 2000s is a poor comparison. Sure they have that crappy pressed in checkering and might need a little smoothing up, but the ones I've come across with JM stamp have been good enough for...
Go here for your gas checks. It will save you a bunch. I use a lee push through sizer to do mine as well and then lube with Lee alox.

Seems like Marlin has improved their checkering too. The old marlin pressed in checkering was not worthy of the firearm IMHO.
Congrats on a beautiful rifle!
Some of Scheels' stuff is pricey (eg their loaded ammo and primers). But I've found some good deals on reloading supplies. I load for 300PRC and found Lapua brass for $150 and 250 gr A-tips for $70!
Their high prices are comparable to Cabelas, but overall stuff is cheaper at Scheels in my...
Back when I shot groups with my SBH Hunter in 45 Colt it averaged 2.57" (best was 2.14") at 100 yards - but these were 3 shot groups.
With my old 22LR single six hunter, I once shot a 0.521" 5 shot group at 50 yards (all with same chamber).
They have antlered/antlerless seasons here too. But that doesn't mean it's not rare. I've been hunting 3 decades and never seen one or heard of anyone else taking one.
