    357 Mag 125 XTP and H110

That is the same load I worked up in my 4" GP 100. I really don't see much difference between 21 and 22 grains but 21.6 - 21.8 seems to be marginally more accurate. Prints about 1.5" to 2.0" at 25 yards and shoots to the same POI. No signs of pressure or difficulty extracting but that little...

My favorite handgun up to this point is my 1911. HOWEVER, I can tell you now my GP 100 is running side by side after shooting it twice. It is like breathing to me...it shoots where it points and seems perfectly balanced. I tried several brands of 357 ammo from Federal 357B's to Speer Gold...

Picked up my new 4" SS GP100 last weekend. Best purchase in years! I don't think that I have fired many handguns that have any better balance or are any more accurate. I am making one change and that is the addition of some Meprolite night sights as they are much cheaper than Lasik. LOL...

    134gr or 125gr Speer Gold Dots For A .357 4" SP101?

And BTW, loading their 44 version of this bullet to about 1000fps is an extremely effective SD round and most impressive! It hits like a high-speed anvil and commonly expands to 70 cal+! I shoot them in my 6" 29.

    134gr or 125gr Speer Gold Dots For A .357 4" SP101?

I have done a good deal of research on this question and talked directly to the Speer engineers. The bullet is the same they use in the 357 mag and will be fine in a 4" with 38+P ammo. In a short barrel, 38+P is designed to produce 880fps while the 357 round produces 990fps. I doubt...

    Garrett Ammo anyone?

Has anyone tried the 44 mag ammo made by Randy Garrett? I have used his 45-70 +P loads and can tell you they are great. I am thinking about ordering some 310 gr +P for bear defense. Check out their website for his penetration research and customer trophies...

    357 security six

If you have a 4" or shorter revolver, you may want to try the Speer short barrel ammo in 357. They are just a bit more than a 38+P.....sort of a 357 light (990 fps) but extremely impressive with penetration, expansion and low flash in short guns.

I agree with the stainless for a truck gun. Your Federal Hardcasts sound like a good combination. They may surprise you with what they are capable of. Look at the Garrett website...too bad he doesn't make 357! http://garrettcartridges.com/products.asp

What holster(s) have you used or do use, for Six Series...

I do not own a six series but highly recommend Galco holsters for the application you mentioned. I use one model for a 1911, another for a model 19 and a third for a 66. They are a little expensive but make great products that will last a long time. You can check out their entire line here...

Thanks again for the great input. Looks like there are no complaints so I need to go pick up that 4" stainless I had my eye on. For deer, I use a 270 Win or something similar. This new addition will be good for snakes, hogs, varmints etc.....which could include some of the two legged kind as...

    New Member looking at GP100.......

Hey folks, I am a new member (first post and all) and am looking at a new GP 100. I haven't owned a Ruger revolver since about 1974 when I had an old model Super Blackhawk. That was one tough gun and I was impressed. But, it's a new day and new times at Ruger. I'm looking at the 357 for a...
