Ruger bolts rise early and would mar up ceracoat pretty bad is my guess.

It seems like .327 brass is unabtainium. That might influence your decision. An old Skeeter Skelton article had some stronger loads that might make it worthwhile to keep the cylinder in 23 H&R.

Got a 7.5. I put some Ruger rosewood takeoff grips on it and painted the sights. Reddish -orange on front and blackened the rear. It shot to point of aim. I am happy with it.

I know that it has been a while and you have returned it, but Rugers that I have returned to them to get them right are some of my best guns.

Be careful and pay attention and scoops can work great.

I got the same grips. I had to add an arched MSH to make them feel right.

I have a 2008 Sp101 3 inch. It loves American eagle 158 grain soft points. As others have said Ruger will fix it.

Wouldn't a PCC carbine in 40 be the equal of a 10mm pistol? Same power in a more shootable package. Maybe even legal for Deer in some states.

If a replacement for a lost cylinder could be obtained then it could become a 10mm mag.

I use mostly 180 gr. 40 in mine vs trying to make it a magnum. It is a modern version of the 38-40.
