    Automatic Powder Dispensers

I have 2 balance beam scales to check my electronic one. I had a Lyman unit and after it broke the 2nd time and they wanted 1/2 the cost of a new one for replacement I got a Hornady unit like my buddy. It has been an excellent unit. I know the RCBS unit is really good but more money and has...

Any advantage to using magnum primers over large pistol?

I have gone to using mag primers in all loads. I have had no problems even with max loads and the accuracy is usually better. Been doing so now for many years on everything from 9mm/45acp/38special/357mag/44mag(also light loads)/ 454Casull(small rifle mag primers)/500S&W as well as some odd mil...

Unique vs. 800X for .44 mag 200gr. XTP bullets ?

I love the 200gr HP bullet(Nosler or Hornady) and have taken deer/pigs and a very large(weight and B&C book) Black Bear with them. I have not used 800-X but have used a lot of Hi-Skor 700-X and unique in my 7.5" SBH and RH. I loaded both the 200gr jacketed bullets and 250gr hard cast ones I...

Favorite .44 mag load for hunting deer

My fav load for deer/pigs/bear/squirrels is a mag primer(usually win) with 29grs of H-110 under a 200gr HP from Nosler or Hornady. I have used this in a 7.5" SBH and RH. Friends have used it also in SRH's. I have also used it in my Ruger semi-auto before I sold it. Very deadly. This is a max load.

    primer question

I use mag primers in all my loads and have never had a problem. They are suggested with any ball powder. They should be used when using H-110 or Win296

Hunting load suggestions for .44 SRH

I have taken several deer and a very large Black Bear with the 200gr HP bullet(Hornady or Nosler) with a mag primer and 29grs of H-110 with a heavy crimp. This is a max load and I have shot it out of a number of Rugers without any trouble. Currently I have a RH and I use to have a SBH. Also shot...

    powder measures

I have run many pounds of H-110 thru my Uniflow and have done so with very accurate measurements. I use the funnel trick and a smooth same handle motion to get great results.

    Winchester Primer failures last week.

I had 2 fail and of course that had to when check sighting my rifle in Africa. The other 700+ I fired from the carton worked fine. Those 2 made me nervous to start with but no others failed. I fired about 35 rounds in Africa. Everything but one animals were one shot kills. The one took another...

Forget the old X-Bullets. Use the newer TTSX bullet. It starts opening sooner than the TSX bullet.

    Ruger SBH .44 mag loads

For a mild load I shoot 8.5grs Unique with a 240-250gr lead bullet. My full power/hunting load is a 200gr HP Nosler or Hornady XTP over 28grs H-110 and a mag primer. I have taken a B&C black Bear and a number of deer as well as a yote and some ground squirrels with it. Also a muskrat. I shot a...

Limbsaver recoil pads, do you recommend them?

I have them on Ruger's, Tikka's, H&R, Rem rifles. They are very good

Leave the Limbsaver on it. It will be easier on the shoulder to shoot. I have one on mine.
