In the 70's a Colt Trooper MkIII 6" .357 new. The third time out when pulling the hammer back to fire single action, the hammer would fall without a trigger pull. What a surprise that was.. Fixed under warranty at a Colt authorized gun shop.

I just picked up a used 101 on a trade and have a question about it's age. Is there a data base using the serial number that would show me the date it was made in? Also how long has the 101 been produced? Thanks, be safe, CraigJS
