Reassembly of a Pietta reproduction Remington 1858 New Model

Howdy Pards - its been a while since I was last on the Ruger forum. Family and friends (and me) are all well and good. My problem: I am trying to reassemble a completely torn down Pietta 1858 New Model C&B revolver, purchased new in 2017 Its been 6-7 years since I last shot and cleaned my old...

Ruger Old Army 5.5 IN Gloss Stainless

I had a pair of them, used for CAS shooting for many years. Took two Top Ten WR belt buckles with them thru 2007. Sold them to a pard in MO for 3X what I paid for them years earlier. OOOPS I did not remember my first post on 10/11/19. My bad. Coop

Ruger Old Army 5.5 IN Gloss Stainless

I used to have two of them, numbered 08 and 09, and shot them for many years as blackpowder C&B revolvers. I won two Frontiersman Top Ten belt buckles at SASS Winter Range National Championship matches at Ben Avery in AZ (2005 and 2007). Sold them for 4 times what I paid for them to a collector...

Old 10/22 better quality than current production?

I use my modified 1995 10/22 with a Fajen TH stock, Volqartsen hammer group, Midway bull barrel (yup!), and Leupold 3X10 scope to chase golf balls around at 100+ yards in front of a dirt back berm. I cannot speak for mew models.

Mark IV: (or any Mk) How long do extractors typically last?

Me too. I have three MKII pistols, each of which have 5+ figures of rounds thru them with nary a problem.

What is the appeal of the Vaquero

My wife and I have been shooting our four .357 Vaqueros since 1998 in SASS/CAS competitions. Each of them have over 11,000 rounds shot thru them over beaucoup CAS matches. They are single action revolvers required by SASS rules. They are easy to shoot, easy to clean, and are basic functioning...

    Shotgun for home defense

You come into my house uninvited (aka Home invasion) and you will face a Mossberg 12 GA Shotgun with 5 OO buck shotshells. It will take me, or my wife, about 0.5 seconds to chamber the first one, and about 4 seconds to shoot the next four. Good luck, perp.

    Mk II Hammer Strut Support

I own 2 Mark II's from the mid to late 1990's. I read the manuals for each of them in detail, and each have over 15,000+ rounds thru them over the last 30 years. Both are cleaned on a regular basis after firing, including removal of the receiver from the grip frame. I do not recall ever having...

    On Pocketknives...............

I have carried a personalized (Curt) small Victorinox multiblade pocket knife for 30 years now. One knife blade, one cap lifter/screwdriver, one scissor blade, one corkscrew, one tiny screw driver, and several small items including a ballpoint pen stick. It has helped me and many others thru...

What makes this Blackhawk box so special?

I cannot speak for the Blackhawk. However, I purchased Ruger Gold Label shotgun bunch of years ago. It was a firearm writers test gun, and came to me used directly from Ruger for employee price, courtesy of Mike Fifer. It had the original box and all the documentation. Buddy of mine and I fired...

M77 Varmint Factory Tapped on Barrel?

Hmm - My 1995 KM77VT in .22-250 did not come with barrel drilled and tapped. It came with the barrel having machined upsets front and back of the bolt opening, onto which fitted Ruger factory scope rings. Was their something special about the .220 Swift?

Mk III & II-Hammer Strut Support makes REASSEMBLY EASY

Oh Poopy, Poopy. I have 3 Ruger Mark 2 pistols, the first (a 6-7/8 Gov't Model) purchased in 1995, and I never ever had a problem reassembling any of them after a good cleaning. The Ruger instruction manuals are very clear on how to reassemble the Mark 2's. All one has to do is follow the Ruger...
