The 30 cal bullet with lapping compound sounds much better than taking a dremel to it. I’m not sure my largest drill will open up enough for the bullet, but I’ll see. Sounds like a project to add to the list.
You can see the tiny “ramp” on the barrel. I wonder if a little work with a file or dremel 😳 might be worth a try.
Believe me I tried a lot of ammo in it. This was bought when you could walk into any store and buy 22 ammo.
I must have an early Henry because mine jammed so much it hasn’t been shot in 20 years. I wouldn’t want to depend on it for anything much less survival. My 10/22 has jammed less in the entire time I’ve had it than the AR-7 has in one outing.
As an east coast dweller I never saw or ate abalone. I didn’t know you had to pry them loose. The oyster knife I’m familiar with is only for prying them open after they are caught and sized by fishermen.
A Japanese made model that doesn’t get carried much. The smaller A G Russell knife was recently carried in a tux pocket at my daughter’s wedding. It sliced up a lime and opened a few miscellaneous things.
