They have rumored about an Alloy version of the SP-101 for a few years.
However, this appears to be some alloy or carbon steel, and
not aluminum alloy.
The new blued gun is 26 ounces, the same as a stainless one.
No rel advantage for me to buy one IF I wanted to stick with
38/357.

Awesome post and pics.
Have tried the Pachmayers on my 3 inch.
Think I will go back to the stock grips, and explore more grip options down the road.
My plan is to make the GP44s my only DA revolvers... except for
a GP100 in .22 LR. That would be sweet.
These are next on my list ...
Now that I have this:
I'm thinking that my next Ruger handgun might be a GP100 in .22 LR.
No real desire for a SP-101 in that caliber, or a LCR with their heavy trigger pulls.
Would a person be able to use a Wolff spring kit for the GP-100 trigger?
I'd leave the hammer spring alone.
I'm one of those guys whp wrote a couple letters to Ruger, each year and asked for a
.44 Special.
They came out with the Single Action .44 SP guns, and now we can buy the GP44s.
The real problem that keeps me from buyimng one is that .44 Special ammo is both
rare and expensive in my area...
I had a 3 inch BD for a short period.
Not a fan of the recoil, or the fact that it would only shoot to POA with
240 grain bullets.
However, even though I did write more than a few letters to Ruger
over the years in concern to a possible .44 Special.
I no longer reload, nor can I find any...
My new :CP II will be going down the road.
Cool looking .380 that kind of matches the looks of my RAP Compact.
However, I cna't get more than 1 or 2 shots off before dumping the
mag. Very frustrating, and at my age I'm not into learning any new ways
to hold a LCP.
I'll be better off with a...
I was able to play around with a 3 inch LCRx, but didn't like the sights that much.
Seemed way taller than the rather low profile fixed sights on LCRs that I've owned in the
past.
Since I've always admired the copper cylinder (colored) LCRs.
I was surprised to see a LCRx:
Ruger LCRx Black /...
