Trust your life with a Ruger???

I would choose my Walther PPQ. :D I feel it to be more reliable than my SR9C. I have had many failure to fires with my Ruger. :( So I am not able to bolster confidence in it.

    The new SR9c

OH, i agree ABSOLUTELY. :!: Too bad what we "want" and what we get are two different things. I will just succumb to the fact that the SR9c is made with a slide STOP only. I will still enjoy this gun though. :)

    New SR9c with Range Report

IronMikeGolf: Thanks for that informative range review. :) Too bad you couldn't find a "2 for 1 deal" on the SR9c. One for you AND one for your wife. :P

    The new SR9c

Yeah, what's the deal with the failures? :?: This forum is a GREAT place to pin-point these type of issues. Is it the ammo, is it the gun? I hope more SR9c owners can shine some light for us curious, hopefully future sr9c owners.

    The new SR9c

Thanks Al for your insight. I am going to my local gun guy tomorrow to let him show me this process with this PARTICULAR gun (sr9c). I NEED to witness this in action, mostly because the Ruger manual says that you need to pull back on the slide (as you stated also), but WHILE depressing the...

    The new SR9c

Why would this be true?? How would the slide stop release mechanism "know" if the mag is full or empty? :?:

    The new SR9c

Again from the manual>>> The slide stop can be released by drawing back slightly on the slide and depressing the slide stop thumbpiece. When the slide is released, it will move forward under pressure from the recoil spring." Note the wording, it seems fairly certain that you need to pull...

    The new SR9c

kscott: thanks for the insight on the slide. :) I am "on the fence" about this purchase.

    The new SR9c

I fear Ruger will have "another" problem child with this SR9c model. Did they make a blunder with the slide release or did they "plan" for it to be so DARN hard to use?? I know the manual states that it is a "SLIDE LOCK" not release, but then what's the point? :?: Do you need to pull the...

SR9c Blackened "Stainless" or Alloy Steel

Stainless is an alloy, but not ALL alloys are certainly stainless, in order to be classified as stainless an alloy need to contain at least 11% CHROMIUM...that is what gives stainless all of it's corrosion resistance properties. (also need some nickel in it too). So I imagine the black ALLOY in...

    SR9c... GOT IT!!!!! **PIC UPDATE**

I had mine "ordered" and it come in today, so I went to pick it up (but due to money issues I ended up putting it on layaway). Anyway I held it and I felt like a new Dad at the hospital nursery dept. The sr9c seems hefty in weight to me. But the quality was good. I got the black alloy and it...
