Need security six refinished, any recommendations?

You might check out Ford's in Florida. While I've never personally used them they have a great reputation on other forums. They offer a bead blasting and blue matt finish as well as just about anything else. http://www.fordsguns.com If you send it to Ford's please post photos. :)

    Green and black laminate

I'm looking for a 10-22 for one of my grandsons for christmas and they seem to be in limited supply. I looked at the green laminate and passed on it because it is really bright green :( :( . At Bud's the green is $49 more than the plain stock. I really want something special for my grandson but...

    SR 22 FTF

I've experienced some FTF's, usually with Remington ammunition but it does happen to a lesser degree with other brands. The first thing I would check on the FTF round would be the primer strike. If it looks normal it's probably a defective round. If you want to double check you might chamber the...

    holster advice for 2 1/4" sp101

Check out Simply Rugged holsters. Rob is a forum member and he builds great holsters. I have the "Silver Dollar Pancake" for my SP and I use it every day. I prefer IWB straps but if I choose strong side or cross draw, I can use the same holster. Very well made and easy to re holster the weapon.

replacement bushings for removing the MKIII mag safety?

You can order the LCI filler from Bruce Patza N863 Lawn Road, Seymour Wi. 54165 [email protected] He makes 3 finishes, bright blue, matt blue and stainless. Very nice product. About $25 if my memory is correct. I got a bushing from Midway Volquartsen VC2HB

Old Mark I shooter value PIC

Looking at the "hack marks" on the left side of the receiver just in front of the bolt ear and the marks in the rectangular piece in the grip frame (sorry, I do not know what this part is called) just to the rear of the safety, it looks like someone was beating on the gun in an incorrect attempt...

    Rechambering a GP100 from 38spec to 357mag

Yes, you can have the chambers reamed to take .357. I've seen it done on Ruger "six" series revolvers and an older Colt Trooper. In both cases the barrel was still marked .38 spl. I don't think I would do this myself. The previous replys pretty much cover the reasons why.

    Any upgrades to GP100

The later model GP's and SP's have a slot in the grip frame which makes it easier to activate the plunger that releases the trigger group for cleaning. I'm not sure when this change took place as my SP and GP's have this slot. If I found an SP or GP I wanted without the slot I would still buy...

    22/45 model question

Check out Davidsons Gallery of Guns. They have some special edition Tallo models. Last fall I bought a #10143 Catalog #P45GCMKIIIRP. It's a blue slab side 4 1/2 with removable panels. It does have adjustable sights. I really like it.

    Question 22/45 scope mount screws

If you put 6-48 X 1/8" plug screws (headless) with blue loc-tite in the threaded holes they will be flush at the top and not go in far enough to hit the bolt. You might already have them if you bought the gun new. When the gun left the factory it probably had these installed in it with the...

    5.5" Redhawks ?

I've been on Davidsons Gallery of Guns wait list for over a year. I really want one. Hopefully Ruger will make a run of them soon.

Redhawk questions (I've never fired one before.)

Could it be a 5 1/2 inch. I dont think hey ever made a 6 inch Redhawk. $400 is a great price. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Live in Illinois, Get an LCR???

I have 2 good things to say about Illinois. First, I was born there and second, I don't live there anymore. To those of you forum members that live in Illinois, you have my sympathy. Most of the time when I travel I carry an SP but not when I am in Illinois. It's a strange feeling to be in...

    ream cyl,

The early SP's had a shorter cylinder and were 38 special only. When Ruger first modified the cylinder to 357 the cylinder length prohibited the use of anything larger than 125 grn. because of the limited length. The later SP's had a longer cylinder to take heavier bullets. I think you could...

    Taurus model 85

Maybe I can help a little. I have one Taurus revolver and its a 941, 22 mag. It does have wood grips and it was made in 2000. I did not buy it new but I'm sure the grips are origional.
