I was wondering something similar before. I know Freedom arms are good but can they be THAT much better than a good Ruger? Yeah...they are. I would have never believed it until I held one at a gunshop. Looked almost the same, but just totally couldn't compare to my Ruger. And I love my Rugers...
As far as I know they're the same, except maybe the barrel, which I'm still wondering about.
I know there are several people who have put 9mm cylinders in regular Blackhawks.
The difference between single and double action on a .22 is HUGE. Ruger doesn't even sell a DA .22, which is down right stupid. They make multiple autos, rifles, and SAs in .22 to choose from.
Even if it had bad sights I'd LOVE to have an 8-9 shot SP22. I'd even pay Smith prices for it.
You're never going to get a reply from the CEO of Ruger. I believe they specify that right next to where you can email "him". (though I doubt the actual CEO ever reviews them)
It is however great for people to CONTINUOUSLY remind Ruger of how many calibers they're missing out on and how easy it...
I have to disagree with that. With recent ammo supplies being the way they are (not so bad in the last month or two) I have been buying a box or two of .38/.357 anywhere I can. I don't care what brand or bullet it is as long as it goes boom. Most of the cheaper stuff I have been ending up with...
Bottom of the page...where?
Ruger does make an "official" export 9mm GP don't they? Maybe I could find a cylinder from one of those...(not from Ruger, of course  )
Well, like I said I'm not really a fan of the 9mm. I could buy a cheap plastic one that holds 17 rounds, but, then where...
That's what I was thinking, modified stock cylinder. I think they do that for custom blackhawk conversions? I know the barrel diameter is a slight issue, but I was thinking about the Blackhawk convertible...does anybody know whether it does have a special size barrel or just the standard .357? I...
Been thinking about buying a .357 Blackhawk convertible, but I want one in stainless...those are hard to find/custom. I'm wondering if the same sort of thing might be possible for the GP100? Having an extra cylinder converted by a gunsmith for 9mm, and fit to the gun. GP100s are so easy to take...
I KNOW Ruger employees keep an eye on this forum, they threw a fit IMMEDIATELY after the LCR pictures got leaked early. I'm not trying to be nice to them or get a specific question answered, I'm rolling my eyes in their general direction. They just need to read this thread and see how many...
On a more serious note how many guns does Ruger make a distributor like Davidsons or Lipseys order for a "special run"? Wonder if they could come up with a .22 SP101 kind of like the .44 special........ :?:
EXACTLY! They've still probably got all the old equipment to make them in the shed out back...it's not like the wore it out during production. Though, part of it's demise might be that it's only a 6 shot which is still kind of lame for a .22. (that's like a 5 shot .32)
Seriously, I know Ruger employees read this forum. What is the most popular cartridge ever made? The .22 rimfire. Why, oh why, does Ruger not offer a nice little .22 DOUBLE ACTION revolver, when they offer two different types of SA rimfires, and several auto/rifles. All of their competitors...
