Ruger AR 556 MPR with the 18 inch Barrel

I'm not that fanatical ab out it. Neither the cost nor the effort is justifiable to me. Thanks, anyway!

Ruger AR 556 MPR with the 18 inch Barrel

Just ordered one but all they had was the 16.1" barrel. Will be here Wed. I don't care for the folding stock=is there any add-on fixed stocks available? (I'm old school and learned on a G.I. M-16)?

    Cooper's Hawk

We had a Coop's sitting on our fence for several days a couple of years ago. We had a bird waterer and he/she just sat an wauted for the Valley Quail to come in. I've seen a sharp-shinned around several times the last couple of years. Our sunflowers attract a lot of finches and a few tit-mice.

400 yard plus rifle for Mulies? Made a choice!

If elk are on the agenda, anything smaller than 7mm/270 is too light. Remember, you may only get one shot! A buddy used 25-06 but that was his do everything rifle. For years, before I quit hunting due to health issues, I used a 300 mag with 180 gr Noslers for just about everything from ground...

Why the obsession with birdshead grip?

The BEST single action grips are those on "real" Bisleys (Colt), followed by plow handles, then by Ruger "Bisleys". Birdsheads last. Just my opinion from 60+ years of shooting SAs in calibers up to 454.

El Paso Saddlery "Threepersons" holster for Ruger Blackhawk

My main holster type=musta had over a dozen over the years!

    Sambar grips

I have bought over a dozen sets of elkhorn from Grashorn ("Executioner"). Don't know his current price. Had them on 1911's, several Blackhawks and Vaqueros, Colt SAA, and others. Have had several sets from bighorn but the supply is limited. You order them and he will send you a picture for...

    BEAR GUN EXPERIENCE

Gotta remember the OP made a sloppy shot in the first place! Then, he left it injured overnight! If he did that to me, I'd be PO'ed too!

    BEAR GUN EXPERIENCE

I agree 99% with Contender. You will likely only get time for ONE shot=revolver, auto or shotgun. Our "problem" bear bios in Federal service in Alaska use Brenneke 12 gauge slugs on problem bears and in defense of life and property. "regular" bios get bear spray. I was certified for both...

BEAR BACKUP! Custom Ruger Bisley Vaquero 45LC

Ever a bear's skull, especially a grizzly? Between the eyes will likely glance off!

BEAR BACKUP! Custom Ruger Bisley Vaquero 45LC

Had one I made up out of a birdshead==put a Bisley grip, and oversized Hogue wood grips==OM Vaquero, so it caould handle STOUT bear loads (I live in grizzly country). Never should have sold it. Now I have an OM Blackhawk in 45 Colt.

My OM 357 with Maple Burl Grips

OM Blackhawks just cry out for shorter barrels! The burlwood looks great. Had some on a 3.5" Vaquero that I had. Looked and shot great!

    Piebald Visitor

    Likely sarcoptic mange.

    Piebald Visitor

Likely what biologists call a "chimera"==the fusion of two embryos resulting in splotchy and different DNA within one individual. Rare but it does occur.
