Poll needs a catagory for Springfield Armory 1911's. I've been thinking about one but want to see and check out a Ruger before making my mind up about which one to get. Possibly both as I only have a Colt NM series 80 right now.

Just got off the phone with Ruger records checking about the supposedly plated 41mag. under discussion. Just as I had expected it shipped with a blue finish in January 1966. I just love some of the stories you hear at gunshows. Most of them are a bunch of baloney. :roll:

Just for chuckles and giggles I'll give Ruger a call Monday morning and see what they have to say about 3914. I doubt very much if it will letter as its too late for factory plating and too poor a job for the factory to claim.

Normally and usually Ruger will return the original parts when a 3 screw is converted. On occasion the original parts will not be returned. I don't know exactly why but believe it is done in error. I have had an old model returned with the original parts missing. Ruger did eventually send me...
