🛒 Classifieds Help & Posting Rules

Per the request of many members — here’s a quick guide to buying and selling safely on the forum. It’s mostly common sense, but very helpful if you’re a first-timer.

✅ 1. Eligibility to Post or Send PMs

  • Be a member for at least 30 days
  • Have a minimum of 15 posts
  • Want to skip the above? Become a Site Supporter
  • Any commercial activity requires an active Vendor Account Upgrade

💡 Tip: If a new member asks you to email someone off-site, use the Report button before responding.

📋 2. Listing Rules

  • Post an asking price — no auctions, no links to auctions. (Use the Auction Section for those.)
  • Trades are fine, but include a reasonable dollar value.
  • Your state of residence must be listed in your profile. Posts without it will be deleted.
  • Upload a photo of the actual item — linking to hosted images is not allowed.
  • Be civil. Keep negotiations in PMs; do not post price critiques or “offers” in threads.
  • Leave sold posts up for reference. Threads automatically move after 30 days of inactivity.
  • All Federal, State, and Local laws apply. See ATF.gov for details.

Good Listing Checklist:

  • Clear title with item name, condition, and state
  • Firm price or “OBO” (no hidden bidding)
  • Accurate description and what’s included
  • Well-lit photo(s) of the actual item
  • Payment & shipping details (who pays, carrier, insurance, etc.)

📦 3. How Many Listings Can I Post?

  • Members: up to 3 listings per month, including relistings
  • Supporters: unlimited (as long as they are non-business related)
  • Vendors: must use the Vendor Classifieds section for all commercial posts

💡 Relisting counts toward your monthly total. Please mark old posts as sold instead of starting duplicates.

🧠 4. Common Sense Safety Tips

  • Do not post phone numbers or emails publicly — share them via Private Message (PM) only.
  • Avoid risky payment methods like Zelle or PayPal Friends & Family. Use traceable, secure options.
  • If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Contact the buyer or seller directly before sending payment for any high-value item or firearm.
  • Never send money to a third party or “friend’s” email address — report these immediately.

⚠️ We’ve had reports of scammers trying to send payments through overseas or unverified emails. Always confirm who you’re dealing with.

🚨 5. Reporting Problems

  • Use the Report link on any post to notify moderators.
  • Report if someone asks you to email a third party or use untraceable payment methods.
  • Include PM context or screenshots when possible — this helps us act faster.

If you ever feel uneasy about a transaction, report it before proceeding.

💬 6. FAQ

Why do I need an asking price?
Because it keeps the marketplace fair and easy to search. Auctions belong in the separate Auction area.

Can I post without listing my state?
No. It’s required for safety, legality, and shipping purposes.

Why are comments about pricing removed?
Price discussions cause conflict and derail listings. Use PMs for private offers or feedback.

Do I need to leave my sold posts up?
Yes, so others can see market values. Threads will automatically move after 30 days.
