Like the title says, I'm looking for an extremely nicely figured factory walnut stock for a tang safety 77 in 220 Swift. It doesn't have to be pristine as in finish as I would like to refinish it myself. Thanks!!

Thanks for the pics 5card, I'll keep this one in mind. I'd really like to find one with a lot of fancy fiddleback, I know they're out there but not real common on the M77, more so on the No.1's.

You will not see Fiddleback on a Ruger 77 factory stock, the wood is not cut that way to make the blanks mostly plain saw

When I think of nice M-77 stocks, I remember this M77 Compact in 7.62x39 I had years ago. She was a beauty.

Yes I like it you can see the big Knot right by your thumb that is a tight knot, if it were not that stock would have been junk but it give it a lot of character. The fiddle back is made from wind stress on the annual rings an different pattern but again character

There was a really nice M77 tang safety in 270 for sale about a month ago, unfired and it had the best wood on a M77 I'd ever seen. I almost bought it just for the stock to put on my .280 but I didn't. Should've though. Even though, I'm still looking for one for my Swift.
