The process of adding a RW grip frame to a Ruger

I would think that a skilled person on a lathe could do this.
I too found that my set needed a relief on the edge of the shanks to prevent them from rubbing the frame. A little bit more of a shank would be easy.

I have enjoyed this thread. I purchased a stainless steel grip frame from Brownell's for my blued steel Single-six revolver just because I like a two-tone look. Properly fitting the new grip frame takes more patience and skill than one might think. I have gotten mine close but not perfect. I'm to that point where I have to constantly be aware that excess metal can always be removed but can't be added back. 😊
