I shot one of the newer Springfield XDs .45's on Friday. I know it's a smaller gun than any of the SR compacts but that thing was next to no fun to shoot after about 5 rounds of good defense ammo. I wonder how much kick a SR45c would exhibit? I'm not recoil sensitive by any means but a small gun squirming around as it pushes back hard bugs the crap out of me.

The S&W M&P45c is not a bad shooter at all...so, I would assume that a Ruger SR45c wouldn't be bad either. The XDS is a VERY small pistol, much smaller than the M&P45c, and I assume the SR45c would be comparable to the M&P45c. (The SR45 is close to a M&P45 in size.) The texture on the grip of the XDS is not comfortable...it's "grippy" for sure, but not pleasant when firing the gun. (I owned a XDS briefly.) The whole XD line tends to have a higher bore axis, and a different recoil impulse, than M&Ps and SRs, IMO.

I sure do hope Ruger comes out with a SR45c....I had a SR45 for a little while, but sold it. It was just too big for my preference.

The only thing keeping me from buying a SR45 is knowing that the c model will be out soon, I hope. At least that's what I tell myself each time I see a SR45 at a gun store. So far, it's working, but if it doesn't come out soon, I'm afraid I will own both.

Well, what's wrong with that? 8)

I assume the SR45c will be able to use the SR45 magazines, so you can share mags at the range, or even for carry if you want. They will shoot the same ammo. Plus, even when they (if they) announce the SR45c, who knows how long it will take to get one? You could be shooting the SR45 in the meantime.

I bought 2 SR9's and a SR40 before I bought the SR9c, and I have to say I like the c better. I told myself that since I have a full size 45 (not 1911) that I love, I would wait for the 45c. But, it is so HARD!

I know what you mean...I prefer compact size pistols, but I am not burdened with an overabundance of patience.

Loved the idea of the p345 but it was just the worst. Had two and both never satisfied and the second one went to Ruger twice and was then sold.

I own a P90 (1911 improved) and a P97....I really like both pistols....the P90 is most likely the best shootin' 45 acp I've ever owned...

Yep I own both thinking the 345 would follow suit. It left me going right back to the p90.
