Salt Dips !

Does anyone collect salt dips? Crystal, milk and colored glass, etc. I have a 40-yr collection and will make someone very happy!

I had to look them up too. A small, I'm guessing here, 3" diameter plate with a small well for salt. Think an individual salsa bowl for salt and celery.


I had to look because my Mom collected butter chips and I wondered if they were the same thing with a regional name change.

Most are small crystal cut or colored glass. On a table, fill with iodized or flavored salts, to dip celery, green onion is, etc. When eating used to be dining.
Wife#1likes them for ring, earring dishes.

I think I have some of those at my parents house.. theirs come with very small glass spoons .... for dipping out the salt and sprinkling on your food.

- UPDATE - I posted this collection in advance of an upcoming trip that fell through... I am traveling soon after Christmas, please be patient....

The collection is one of an estate I'm handling, an estate 2K miles away! I had no idea so many are interested and am tracking all responses in order of replies/PMs so no one gets short-changed...
