A friend has a NIB Ruger single six, stainless, 9.5" barrel. Trying to figure a value on this. If anybody has any information would be appreciated. Thank you
1) Is it a single cylinder gun or a "convertible," with a .22WMR cylinder?
2) If it's a single-cylinder gun, does is have a "star" or "arrow" marking on the flat underside of the frame, directly in front of the trigger guard?
3) A 9.5" stainless Single-Six is a somewhat scarce variant. You mention establishing a "trade value." Chances are decent that your friend could get more for it from a group of enthusiasts like those here on the Ruger Forum (who know what it is), vs. someone at the local gun shop (who "ain't never seen one of those"), and/or doesn't recognize it for what it is...
