So whats everyones thinking on this subject after the supposed SR30 joke? Will Ruger introduce an AR chambered in .308 at this years NRA convention?

I voted yes only because it would be interesting... I really don't have a clue and do my best not to speculate on what the suits at Ruger are going to come up with next...

I suspect, for good or bad, old Bill is rolling in his grave.

I voted yes although I am not really interested in one myself. On Guntalk this week Tom Gresham said that at least 2 major companies will be announcing 308 ARs at the NRA show, but he couldn't say any more. It would be hard for me to believe that Ruger would not be one of those companies.

Didn't vote, but I would love to see Ruger produce a domestic AK-47.

My thoughts exactly.

Id buy one. Call me crazy but I want it SS. Ok, blackened SS so I don't look like I seized it from one of Sadam's palaces.

Me too. I really wonder if Ruger has done any prototypes.

Well just a few days left until the show. With Ruger's announcement about suspending all new orders I am curious as all get out now! Looks like a tie between the yes and those who could care less. Cant wait to see what the show brings......if anything. Remember SR-30 was a range designation!?

If Ruger did plan to make a domestic AK..it would not be called an SR-30. Following the Ruger naming system it would be an SR-762.

IF Ruger does produce a SR-762 will people complain if it (like the Mini30) likes BRASS (w/ boxer primered) better than steel/berdan ammo? Don't most 7.62 ARs prefer brass too?
