Possible to modify RAP manual safety to fit SR9?

Subject line pretty much sums it up. Love my SR9 but hate the dinky safety lever, I like the RAP lever, I'd order the part but before I waste the $$ is it even remotely possible to mate it up to the SR9?

Don't know about using a RAP safety but found this on the 'net:

Elsewhere, I have seen in the past a custom made safety for a SR9C made by TJ Custom (see: http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/ ) . It would appear any gunsmith with a knowledge of welding and metal work could make one.
