Move to our own images, select the photo you want, select huge thumbnail, and BB Code then 'paste' it. A few of my cats at the NC Gathering.

* Look for the pic's url on imgur - it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/LPrTXSJ.jpg

* "copy" the url by right-clicking your mouse.

* "paste" the url into your post by similarly right-clicking your mouse.

* Type in [ img ] immediately ahead of the pasted url, w/o any spaces between the square brackets & the "img", of between the brackets & the front of the url.

* Type in [ / img ] immediately after the pasted url, again w/o any spacing.

The pasted url should propagate into a posted pic after the post is submitted, like this:

You should first resize the pic on imgur via double-left-clicking on the pic to separate it from the herd, then selecting a size from the menu located at the bottom RH edge of the isolated pic, THEN copying the url for pasting in your thread.

(This is too big)

Be careful with www.postimages.org! They pulled a PhotoBucket on thousands of users, including me. I belong to a car forum and I noticed my pics disappearing. Sure enough, they were gone from my album.

Use that site at your own risk...

No, they really didn't disappear. They are still there. They notified their users that they were just very slightly changing their address. You can go back to the new address, .cc instead of .org and reshare them. And if you want, you can also change the code on any photo you posted if you don't want to re-share it. The photo with the old code will magically reappear.

Here's an example...

If the forum shows this code

[/color]

just change the .org to .cc and the photo will reappear.

This is the actual notice...

Your pictures are still there, but any pics links you posted you have to change the .org in the link to .cc to get them to show again.

example:

Change this:

to this:

Thanks, WAYNO! Even if they're there (that oughta confuse a s***load of people  ) I can't replace the pics on that muscle car forum because I don't remember which pics went where.

Maybe I should give them another shot as I liked that site more than the one I'm using now, Imgur.

Thanks for the heads-up, Wayne - I use several different pic-hosting websites, including postimage.

I like imgur sizing because the pics can just be uploaded there & sized just before copying the pic url for posting.
Imgur pic sizes can be changed almost instantaneously.

Postimage pic sizes must (AFAIK) be chosen just before uploading, and once a size is chosen, if a different size is wanted, the hosted pic has to be deleted and the same pic uploaded with the desired size chosen.

I easily transferred the image to postimage. Sure sounds easier than imgur

The routine pete44ru posted is WAY too many steps. I use Igmur and, as I said; select the photo in my gallery, select huge thunbnail, click on BB code, and past the link.

I think pete is only trying to cover it all...sounds like more but in the end run cannot get much simpler and easier than what we end up doing ,just like noted above, three clicks and DONE......wish it would stay in the format selected, but always defaults back to "start over"....works for us old folks
