I have been wanting a semi auto .22 mag for a while now. I was less than impressed with the Remington 597, and am not willing to pay what the 10/22 mags are bringing, so I picked up this CZ-512. Accuracy is impressive, it easily outshoots the Marlin 882SSV bolt gun I had. Reliability has been 100% so far with Fiocchi 40gr PSP, and CCI Maxi-Mag 40gr FMJ. Fired the 5 shot group in the photo this afternoon at 100yds at -3 F, with no wind (sorry for the blurry pic, that is a dime). The trigger could be better, it has some creep and is about 6lbs. The trigger is my only gripe, and hopefully it will smooth up with some more shooting.

I think you are going to be very happy with that CZ-512. As you can see in my signature I like CZs.

That CZ looks sweet, but I was wondering why the Remington 597 doesn't impress you? I have a 597 with a heavy barrel and a laminated stock and it easily shoots sub one inch groups at 100 yards. I was just curious why you don't like it?

I have sold a few of the 597 HMR's, they all seemed to shoot well, but most of them had feeding problems with hollow point and soft point ammo.

The CZ, while a bit Euro ugly, seems to be pretty much the only functioning semiauto .22 mag available.

Kodiak 260
H&R 700
Marlin 922M
Ruger 10/22M
Remington 597

From off shore:

Very nice rifle, very nice group.
I have the CZ 452 Lux in .22 WMR, my favorite long gun and favorite caliber.

9x19,
You forgot to mention the best in semi-auto 22mag - VOLQUARTSEN

Did Scott quit making them?

I was only listing those that have been discontinued...

I have a CZ512 in .22LR and it is a tack driver. I polished my trigger components and drilled a spring hole as in this guide and it made a huge improvement. http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=397948

Trigger still isn't great like some of my CZ's, but is better than average and no longer holds the gun back.

my Mitchell Mauser Black Lightning 22 mag semi auto performs well. certainly better than the Ruger, about the same as a hk 700.
