I've put about 300 rounds into my new Security-9 compact over 4 trips to the range. I've noticed some paint wearing off on top of the barrel where the slide rides over it. I admit my first trip to the range was not smooth. By my third and fourth I was without issue. I also had an issue I posted about with a jam I had to figure out. I have three pics here to post. I suspect I caused the paint wear, or is it normal? Thanks anyone.

3rd vote.....very normal wear on that part.

If there wasn't any surface wear in that area at all, then I would begin to think your pistol may not be quite fit correctly. There is metal to metal contact every time the slide moves, there should be wear.

Thanks Bubba. After I fire another 200- 300 rounds of 9mm ammo I take some new pics to compare. I wish I had studied it from the very start.

That's not really even "wear". I mean, fire another 2 or 3 thousand rounds and you won't see a whole lot more difference...
That sounds good. I hope this firearm can last that long. I'm looking forward to being at the range after work today to practice.

Thanks magpouch for the reply, I appreciate it.

I agree with Magpouch. It is nothing but proof that it has been shot, but wear? not at all. Keep lubed and it will run just fine for a long time. By the way, 2000 or 3000 rounds are nothing to these guns now a days. You can go to a range and ask if they have one for rent, then ask how many rounds they have put through it.

You have a fine handgun there, shoot it. Shoot it some more. It's a solid piece. At some point the parts that rub the finish off will slow down, it's only where the parts rub.
