recently bought some silicon gun socks, but after reading how they can hold moisture and how wet my gun was after using ballistol to lightly oil after cleaning recently. What would be a good recommendation for non silicon socks to prevent moisture being held if oil still present?

I got a half dozen "Tourbon" thick cotton gun socks on Ebay. I don't think anything will prevent moisture if it's there but cotton (if not polluted by oil) may absorb some if it's there.

Maybe look into bags of "silica gel"

PS the Tourbon work great in the range bag for multiple revolvers rather than thick rugs.
